Clay Ludlow has been manager of the Cedarville University Campus Store, Cedarville, OH, for the last three years and previously was the course materials manager for six years. He holds an MBA in operations management and completed his university’s selective Leadership Development Program.
He has served as an elected member of the NACS Board of Trustees since 2022. Additional NACS volunteer work includes serving on the PartnerShip Board of Directors for the past year and NACS Course Materials and Academic Resources Advisory Council (2017-19). He also served as a member and officer of the Ohio Association of College Stores (2017-24), now the Great Lakes Association of College Stores with Illinois and Michigan.
“I believe NACS is in an excellent position financially and strategically. I think the organization needs to continue forward on this path, building on the success we have achieved in recent years,” Ludlow says, adding that he will “work to keep the association focused on the right objectives.”
Carol Dreste has been director of the University of California Santa Barbara Campus Store for the past two years and previously served 15 years as the store’s associate director. “I’m always trying to find new ways to collaborate with different members across our campus community. The goal is always to increase our partnership and viability within our campus,” she says. “I am also a strong believer in keeping campus stores independent for the sake of the student. Stores need to represent the campus and its lifestyle, not be a cookie-cutter shopping option.”

He has made presentations at industry conferences—frequently on the innovations his store has pioneered—and served as a member or chair of numerous committees. In 2019, Lorgan was honored with the NACS Aspen Award for his contributions to industry education.
“I feel tremendous passion about the powerful role a college store can play on a campus today. I believe strongly that the best days for college stores can be right now,” he says, noting, “There is a lot of fear about the future. I believe I can help balance that fear with optimism and confidence.”
Scott Swane has been senior director at University Enterprise Services (UMass Store) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst for the past year. Before that, he was director of operations, finance, and technology at the store for four years and store business manager for four years.

“This diverse set of experiences across various retail sectors has honed my ability to adapt to different challenges and implement effective solutions in fast-paced environments,” he says, adding that his “collaborative approach, honed through partnerships with sales, marketing, and merchandise teams, aligns with NACS’ focus on enhancing member services and driving industry innovation.”
