Guidelines

Notes for Freelance Writers
Occasionally feature stories are accepted from freelance writers, with the average feature-length article ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 words.

The magazine does not contain book reviews, nor articles intended for college students. Also, The College Store accepts simultaneous submissions. Payment is upon acceptance.

Notes for NACS Member Writers
The College Store magazine also encourages manuscripts from college store and associate members (or as part of a committee or task force goal) for review for possible inclusion. Topics can include sharing of expertise on issues of interest to other member readers, creative solutions to common problems, etc. Articles should not be about a single, specific product, as promotional features are not accepted—it is fine to focus on one product category, but not on one brand. Feel free to contact the editor to flesh out your ideas for consideration. Final publishing decisions are made solely at the discretion of the editor.
