Committees and Volunteer Opportunities

Realize the Benefits of Volunteering
Volunteers contribute significantly to the quality and vitality of NACS programs and services each year, and provide a rich cross-section of member knowledge and expertise.
But volunteering is about more than the benefits to NACS and NACS members. It's also a rewarding opportunity for you—to stretch professionally, broaden your industry knowledge, expand your leadership skills, and grow your network of colleagues. Plus, you'll have an added sense of accomplishment knowing you've contributed to the future of your industry.

How much time will it take?
No matter how busy you are there are ways to participate. You choose the extent of your involvement depending on the time you have to give and your areas of interest.

How are volunteers selected?
Committees and task forces are appointed by NACS president-elect. Members are appointed for one year, but are sometimes invited to serve additional terms to ensure continuity. Charges for the volunteer work groups are derived from the NACS Strategic Plan. The NACS Foundation also has a number of committees and task forces that work on projects ranging from fundraising to the coordination of Student Watch research.

From time to time specific open positions are recruited for via Campus Marketplace and NACS' electronic discussion lists. In addition to committees and task forces, you can share your knowledge and expertise as a session panelist or presenter, an educational program content adviser, or maybe an ad-hoc resource when additional input is needed.
