Build Your Leadership Skills...and Your Association Benefits Too!
Workshop presented by Jack Schlegel, CAE, Schlegel & Associates
We know that leading an association is fundamentally different than our everyday work environment. We need different knowledge, skills, and understanding. Learn the management/governance model of associations, the roles and responsibilities of officers, boards and committees, and the characteristics of leading-edge associations.

Leaders understand the importance of vision, planning, listening and facilitating. Find out how to motivate volunteers to participate, and develop a plan that focuses the work that needs to be done to achieve common goals. Get tips on how to prepare for committee meetings, how to effectively chair a meeting, and how to facilitate work between meetings.

Meeting Planning Made Easier!
Every Leadership Conference features a meeting planners workshop. We'll discuss working with hotels—including site inspections, negotiations, room set-ups and food and beverage requirements.

A Strong Education Program Serves Your Members!
We'll share processes and resources you can use to create a strong education program. See how to determine what topics are of the most interest to your members, and find out the many resources available to you in providing the best education possible.

Networking Opportunities
Those of you who have attended the NACS Leadership Conferences in the past know that one of the real values comes from the exchange of ideas with your counterparts in other associations. We will allow plenty of time for that, too!

The 2008 conference will begin at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 with an opening session and networking dinner, continue with more education programming all day on Sunday and half a day on Monday, June 9.
